Since it opened in 1960, guest numbers have grown at an annual average growth rate of more than 13 per cent. In 2023, DXB surpassed the pre-pandemic levels of traffic by welcoming 87 million guests and 1.8 million tonnes of cargo to reaffirm its status as the world's preeminent airport.

DXB’s world-class facilities include the $1.2 billion Concourse D, a state-of-the-art facility serving all international airlines that operate into Terminal 1. Other key facilities include Concourse A – the world’s first and largest purpose-built A380 facility that is one of the three Concourses used exclusively by Emirates.
