Baggage regulations

A little effort while packing can save time and money at the airport. Follow these rules and tips for a positive travelling experience:

Bags must have at least one flat surface.

If carrying liquids, aerosols, or gels in hand baggage:

  • Pack items inside one transparent, re-sealable plastic bag within hand baggage.
  • Each item must not exceed 100ml, and the total can’t exceed one litre.
  • Exemptions apply for medication, baby milk/foods and special dietary requirements.

Airlines have various rules around checked baggage. For your checked baggage allowance, please check with the baggage policy of the airline.

Baggage larger than 90cm long, 75cm high and 60cm wide, or that does not have a single flat surface, must be checked in at the airline’s baggage counter, and then dropped to the oversized baggage counter. Allow extra time for this process.

Excess baggage rules and fees can be found in the airline's baggage policy. If a guest doesn’t want to pay excess fees, they may be asked to repack baggage or remove additional weight.

Due to recent policy changes, airport security has the authority to open bags to identify and remove suspiciously packaged or prohibited items without the guest present. Airport security is not liable for any associated damage.

General tips

  • Keep laptops/iPads/tablets in hand luggage and make sure it can be easily reached. At security, place it in a separate security tray.
  • Always remove old baggage tags, as they may cause the bags to be mishandled.
  • Cardboard boxes are accepted as checked-in baggage. The boxes must be robust and of good quality.
  • Don’t forget travel insurance.
