Wheelchair assistance at DXB and DWC is provided by dnata to support guests with reduced mobility.

Departing guests:

Assistance is available from the kerb (Terminal 3 only) or check-in counters (Terminals 1 and 2), through to the boarding gate. Guests are encouraged to request wheelchair support when booking their ticket, or at the airline’s check-in counter.

Arriving guests:

Guests who have pre-booked assistance should make themselves known to dnata attendants at the arrival gate upon disembarkation.

dnata’s team is trained and certified to provide mobility assistance in line with the US Air Carrier Access Act (ACAA) standards. Support may include the use of manual wheelchairs, leg support, infant safety belts and buggy cars. If a guest needs to check in their personal wheelchair, it will be appropriately tagged and a dnata wheelchair will be provided for use throughout the airport journey.

Suitable wheelchairs

dnata offers STAXI with a baggage stowage area beneath (width: 27”, length: 39”) as well as conventional wheelchairs in three sizes (Width: 18”, 22”, 24”).

Services are free for people of determination.
Customs declaration chevron-down

Dubai Customs operates dedicated counters staffed by employees trained to support PwD guests. Guests can collect the necessary clearance from Dubai Customs for transporting goods into or out of the Emirate of Dubai and request a customs inspection of their goods, if required.

Terms and Conditions
Commercial goods carried by guests must comply with customs duty and VAT.
Some goods, such as cash and certain commercial goods, must be declared.
Documents (e.g. invoice, packing list, no objection letter) must be provided and submitted to the customs authorities upon request.
Smart Mobile App
iDeclare, available on the App Store, links with a declaration system allowing PwD guests to securely submit a customs declaration on the go. This provides a quick and secure transfer of information to guests on customs rules and regulations, helping to reduce waiting times. The app can also take a photo of any goods and automatically generate a description of the items.

Passport control assistance chevron-down

People of Determination (PwD) can access dedicated passport control counters operated by the General Directorate of identity and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), where trained employees are available to assist guests with physical or hearing impairments.

  • Departures: Guests using wheelchairs will be escorted through the lane by an airport attendant.
  • Arrivals: Airport employees are on hand to guide PwD guests to the dedicated lane, with signage in place to support easy navigation.

Location: Arrivals and Departures at all terminals in DXB and DWC.
